Before

This is the current state of the house. We are breaking the project down into two parts. Because it is a traditional Greek home with an outside rather than inside staircase, it is easier to do this.

Phase one

This is the top floor of the house. The stone walls are in excellent condition. Outside there are some small spots where the render needs to be repaired, but inside it only needs repointing on the first floor. There's a lot of stone, so a lot of time will go into this! The rooms are dark because where there are windows they are small and in one room, there aren't any.  We will expand and replace three windows with double glazed ones and replace the windows in the verandah with double glazed. The floors appear to be in good shape just two places need attention. Thankfully, my cousin has put plastic over them to help protect them.

Phase two

Ever the optimist, I think (and hope) the downstairs might be in better shape.
